Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts should be submitted via the form on this page to the editor and associate editors. Manuscripts should be no longer than 40 double-spaced pages. The journal requires that submissions adhere either to the American Psychological Association (APA) as outlined in the fifth edition of the Publication Manual (2001) or to the Chicago Manual of Style as outlined in the sixteenth edition (http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/home.html). CMS submissions must employ endnotes.

All submissions should be in Times New Roman 12-point font. An abstract of no more than 120 words must accompany the manuscript. Figures such as graphs, drawings, and diagrams should be professional in appearance and submitted in camera-ready form. Authors of manuscripts accepted for publication must supply final copies of their work in Microsoft Word format.

By submitting a work to the VSSJ, the authors agree to not submit the work to another journal while it is under review with the Virginia Social Science Journal. Furthermore, the VSSJ does not accept manuscripts for consideration that have been published elsewhere under copyright.

Please send submissions to the Virginia Social Science Journal

The VSSJ is published annually with a publication date in March. The deadline for submissions is October 1. Address communications to:
